Brand History and Description –
Lee Byung-chul in 1938 formed Samsung for the basic purpose of trading. Over the next thirty years, the company gradually diversified into textiles, securities, insurance, food processing and retail. Towards the end of 1960s Samsung set foot in the electronics industry, and in the middle of the 70s, it ventured into shipbuilding and construction.
After the demise of Lee in 1987, the company split into Samsung Group, CJ Group, Hansol Group and Shinsegae Group. After 1990, Samsung gradually increased its focus on electronics items worldwide. Its semiconductors, mobile phones, and other electronic goods became a major source of its income.
