Brand History and Description –
Electrolux originated from the merging of two distinct Swedish companies. One was already an established manufacturer; the other was a new company that was founded by a vacuum salesman who formerly used to work with the former firm. While the history of Electrolux is tied up closely with the vacuum cleaner, the brand is now known for making all major appliances.
Lux AB was a notable Stockholm-based manufacturer of large-sized kerosene lamps used in railway stations. These lamps were based on an invention created by David Kempe. The firm had factories on Stockholm’s Lilla Essingen Island and in Riga early in 1912. As market competition rose, Lux started to develop electric vacuum cleaners from 1912 onwards.
