Brand History and Description –
The company was incorporated as a Public company limited under Indian Companies Act, 1913 on 14th July 1938-39 as Radio Lamp Works Limited. Later, on 1st October 1960, the company was renamed as Bajaj Electrical Limited. Matchwell Electricals (India) Limited, an electric fans manufacturer, became the company’s subsidiary in 1964. From July 1st, 1984, the business and all the undertakings of Matchwell was conjoined and amalgamated with the Bajaj Company. During the financial year between 1993 and 1994, Bajaj Electricals became a part of a joint venture along with Black & Decker Corporation of United States for manufacturing and subsequent marketing of household appliances, power tools and related accessories via a separate company called Black & Decker Bajaj Private Limited.
